Troubleshooting

This page is all about troubleshooting any errors you may encounter with downloading our mod pack files. Be sure to read the instructions that come with the mod pack carefully before coming here.

Forge won't install

Many people have all sorts of different errors with Forge especially when it comes to the downloading part.

1. CHECK YOUR INTERNET

Make sure that your internet is not blocking any sites from loading (Also check your firewall). Forge needs access to internet to install a few things into Minecraft. This sort of error usually happens at schools or public WiFi where some websites are blocked for whatever reason.

2. IT SAYS 'Run X.X.X version at least once'

This is yet another common error while downloading forge. For Forge to install, it needs access to the ready-made jar file in your versions folder of the version you are installing. For example, when you play a vanilla version of Minecraft, it puts all its jar files and text files in the versions folder. These folders are generated when you run that specific version of Minecraft. Forge needs these files for installing itself into Minecraft. Here is how you know if you have that version installed:

* Minecraft versions folder

As you can see, there are versions 1.8, 1.9.4, 1.11.2 and 1.12. Lets say I want to install forge for 1.9. As you can tell, there isn't a 1.9 file already in there. This means I have never launched and played on 1.9. If this is the case, load up that version of Minecraft in the launcher.

After it is loaded, you may quit the game. Now 1.9 should be in the versions folder somewhere. Forge for 1.9 should now install.

3. MINECRAFT CRASHES AND/OR MODS DON'T WORK

The mods in the mod pack are separated between .jar files and .litemod files. Make sure all the .jar files are placed directly in the mods folder of your Minecraft directory. Make sure that the .litemod files are placed in the folder that is named the version of the mod pack you downloaded. For example, I have already installed LiteLoader and Forge according to the instructions and there is  a 1.8 folder in my mods folder. The .litemod files should be in there and the .jar files should be directly in the mods folder itself, not in the 1.8 folder. Make sure you don't mix that up.

If the crashes continue, then read the last sentence of step 4 of troubleshooting. If issues persist, don't hesitate to contact us below.

4. FORGE INSTALLED BUT NO 'mods' FOLDER

This means there could have been an error with Forge. There are 2 things you can try. Firstly, you can create a mods folder manually yourself and see if it works. If it does, congratulations. If it doesn't work, you can try installing a different version of Forge for the same Minecraft version, or install a different mod pack.

LiteLoader won't install

1. INSTALL FORGE FIRST

Make sure that you installed Forge before attempting to download LiteLoader. LiteLoader needs to extend from Forge to install.

2. .JAR MODS AREN'T WORKING

This means that when you installed LiteLoader, you told it to 'Extend from: 1.8' (I will be using 1.8 as an example). LiteLoader needs to extend from Forge. For instructions on how to do that, read the instructions that come with the mod pack.

3. OTHER ISSUES

If you have any other issues, read above for Forge troubleshooting, except instead of Forge, apply it to LiteLoader.
